The University of Liverpool English Language Centre (ELC) is seeking to appoint a permanent, full time University Teacher. The post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to teaching and development work across the range of ELC provision, with the first nine months of the contract being focussed primarily on Pre-sessional English.
If successful, you will be joining a team of highly-qualified, experienced teaching professionals with extensive EAP experience within an HE context. At present the ELC employs 16 members of teaching staff, with the In-sessional coordinator, the Pre-sessional Academic Lead and the In-sessional and Pre-sessional Senior Academic Leads also contributing to teaching.
The ELC is a busy, BALEAP accredited department based on the main Liverpool city centre campus. Overlapping Pre-sessional and In-sessional provision means that there is timetabled delivery most weeks of the calendar year. The majority of teaching is delivered on campus. However, there is provision to work from home when not required for scheduled activity on campus.
Ideally, we are looking for someone to start early in 2024, but recognise that some candidates will have a notice period which precludes this and provision has been made to appoint for any start date up to 25th March 2024.
You will have qualifications which confer TEFL-Q status as set out in the British Council’s Accreditation UK handbook (available on the British Council’s website).
The University has the right to close the vacancy early if it is deemed that there have been enough applications received
