Applications are invited from experienced and qualified ELT/EAP teachers to join the EFL Unit at the University of Glasgow to teach on its BALEAP-accredited summer pre-sessional programme.
We are looking for people keen to be part of a team delivering high-quality EAP teaching within a well-established pre-sessional programme with a long and successful track record. You will be employed on a full-time basis, normally teaching up to 18 contact hours a week within a supportive working environment at one of the world’s leading universities and in a vibrant and cosmopolitan city.
As well as teaching, you will attend team meetings, provide students with oral and written feedback and prepare final assessments and written reports. A second, more senior role is available, in which you would also be asked to mentor other teachers and/or to take on lecturing or other responsibilities for the effective operation and running of classes. These additional responsibilities would be reflected in the salary offered.
The course dates are Monday 19 June until 25 August. Contracts are available for the whole 10 week period or for the five weeks from 24 July. Induction for the ten-week course will take place on Thursday 15 June and Friday 16 June; induction for the five-week course will take place on Thursday 20 July and Friday 21 July. Successful applicants will be engaged from the date of induction and must be available to work from this date.
The grade salary range is £27,629 to £38,183 per annum. Individual appointments will be dependent on qualifications and experience and on to which of the two roles you are appointed.
Teachers must be available for induction and the full duration of the course(s). There will be an entitlement to holiday pay, normally paid at the end of the teaching period.

Note that you must have at least 3 years’ experience and hold a First Degree, a Masters in TESOL (1) plus a recognised entry level teaching certificate (e.g. CELTA), or a postgraduate Diploma (2)
