Job Details

The Language Centre at Queen Mary University of London is looking to appoint experienced EAP teachers to work on its Foundation, Pre-Masters and In-Sessional programmes from September 2016 for two semesters.

The post-holder will prepare and teach the English Language & Study Skills on one, or a combination, of the programmes above, and ensure their high quality. In addition, the post-holder will carry out student assessment, and co-operate with, and supervise, other teaching staff as may be required. The post-holder will make a contribution to the long-term development of the programmes to ensure that they meet QA standards.
• Teaching and the assessment of student achievement
• Managing the surrounding student support through e.g. feedback
• Contributing to the design of modules and their assessment
• Leading on relevant administrative tasks relevant to the module or programme

Applicants should have an Honours degree (or equivalent) and a postgraduate English Language teaching qualification (DELTA or equivalent), as well as prior experience of teaching EAP courses in a Higher Education context.

Job Salary & Benefits

The posts are fixed term, from 19 September 2016 – 30 April 2017. The successful candidates would ideally be able to take up their appointment from 19 September 2016. Salary will be equivalent to £19.55 per contribution hour (teaching, preparation, marking, admin, professional development, etc). Benefits include 30 days annual leave (pro rata), a defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
