We are recruiting for three open-ended, full time Teaching Fellow positions in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) within our English Language Education (ELE) unit at the Centre for Open Learning (COL).
ELE offers a wide range of courses including a large summer Pre-Sessional, a rapidly developing in-sessional provision, including discipline-specific courses designed in collaboration with Schools, as well as courses for COL’s International Foundation Programme.
The successful applicant will be a dedicated EAP practitioner with a demonstrable awareness of current thinking in the field of EAP in relation to classroom practice, course design and assessment. You will bring substantial experience in teaching EAP in global Higher Education contexts, a relevant postgraduate qualification, and a practical teaching qualification.
The post involves teaching on a range of EAP courses as well as coordination and operational management of specified courses, potentially in collaboration with Schools.
You will be joining an experienced teaching and professional services team at this leading Russell Group university. Your skills and attributes for success:
• Relevant and evidenced teaching experience in English for Academic Purposes or a related area, typically 5 years to include 2 years within a Higher Education Institution
• Relevant Master’s Degree (or equivalent) or currently engaged in relevant postgraduate study
• A relevant teaching qualification, e.g. DELTA or equivalent
• Up-to-date knowledge of current theory and practice in teaching, learning, course/materials design and assessment in the subject area
• Innovative and creative approach to teaching, course development and assessment
The role is Grade 7 and attracts an annual salary of £33,797 to £40,322 for 35 hours, each week. Salary is paid monthly by direct transfer to your Bank or Building Society account, normally on the 28th of the month.
