Job Details

The Heriot-Watt Global College is a new primary academic unit of Heriot-Watt University. The College offers a range of pathway programmes into Heriot-Watt University degree programmes. These pathway programmes include the Bachelors Degree Accelerator Programme, Pre-Masters Programme for Business and the Pre-Sessional English Programme.

The Pre-sessional English Programme plays a crucial role in helping the University to achieve its ambitious growth targets by increasing the number of entry routes, supporting international partnerships and widening access.

Detailed Description

Our BALEAP accredited pre-sessional programmes develop students’ language and study competence to enable them to perform well on their chosen degree programmes. These programmes have recently been revamped to ensure that they meet the learning needs of our international students as they transition from their previous academic context into their chosen Heriot-Watt programme.

The Heriot-Watt Pre-sessional programme comprises four modules of between 4 and 6 weeks in length. The number of modules students are required to take is determined by the students’ language level. Modules 1 to 3 are designed to develop the students’ Academic English and study skills, while module 4 focuses on developing students’ understanding of Research and Scholarship in relation to English-medium tertiary studies.

In 2023, we will be offering a hybrid programme and fully online programme. In the hybrid programme, modules 1 and 2 will be delivered online and modules 3 and 4 will be delivered on campus. In the fully online programme, all four modules will be delivered online.

We are seeking motivated, independent individuals who can deliver high quality teaching online and on-campus (hybrid programme only) and can facilitate an excellent student experience on the programme. We provide a competitive salary, a comprehensive week-long induction and professional development opportunities including the BALEAP TEAP Portfolio scheme.
