The Centre for Academic English (CfAE) is seeking to appoint a full-time teacher of English for Academic Purposes. We are a busy and dynamic team who believe in, and are committed to, delivering the highest quality of academic language and literacy provision to support the research output and the teaching of STEMM subjects at Imperial College London. We provide a wide range of courses and workshops to better support College members in communicating their science more powerfully and more effectively. Our provision runs for 12 months of the year, with one of the busiest periods being between July and September.
The successful candidate will teach on the CfAE’s pre-sessional and in-sessional EAP programmes for STEMM subjects. They will support colleagues with the design and development of courses, with innovations in teaching materials and assessment tools, with the evaluation of student work and student progress, as well as provide individual feedback to students to support their academic language and literacy development. They will also be expected to contribute to other CfAE activities such as College welcome events, bespoke provision for students and staff in specific departments as appropriate, collaborative projects with academic and other service departments as appropriate, and engage with the wider College community to promote and raise the profile of the work of the Centre.
Applicants should possess a postgraduate qualification in Applied Linguistics/TESOL/EAP or other relevant area and/or a recognized ELT/EAP teaching qualification (DELTA/PGCE TESOL or equivalent)
Recent experience in any of the following areas is desirable: working with STEMM students, working with PhD students, developing e-materials, delivering content through Microsoft 365 applications, and developing EAP assessment items.

£45,234 – £53,536 plus benefits
