We have three different tutor roles available: Reading and Writing, Listening and Speaking, or Academic Skills.

With ongoing professional support from our coordinating team, tutors adapt and deliver engaging syllabi, focusing on developing students’ reading and writing/ listening and speaking/ general academic skills, and preparing them for postgraduate study at the University. Maintaining the highest standards, you will set and mark assessments, provide one-on-one tutorials with verbal and written feedback, and upload materials to our University Virtual Learning Environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to put our international community of students on the path to success. You will excel in these roles if you have experience of delivering student-centred EAP/EFL or Academic Skills teaching, supported by a qualification in Language Teaching/ Learning or Education. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, and you will be a team-player with the ability to thrive under pressure and motivate students. Reading and Writing Tutor salary: £35,845 pro rata

Listening and Speaking Tutor salary: £33,797 pro rata

Academic Skills Tutor salary: £30,942 pro rata

We are recruiting for two separate courses in summer 2020:

Course A: Monday 22 June – Thursday 10 September (including induction)

Course B: Monday 20 July – Thursday 3 September (including induction)

Reading and Writing Tutor roles are available on a full-time basis only (Course A or B). Listening and Speaking Tutor roles are available on a full-time or part-time (0.5 FTE) basis (Course A or B); part-time hours are spread across four days with either a Wednesday or Friday free from teaching. Academic Skills Tutor roles may be available on a full or part-time (0.5FTE) basis (Course A or B).

You must be available to teach for the whole period of the programme for which you are applying. Annual leave is not permitted to be taken during the programme, save for special circumstances approved in advance. Annual leave accrued will be paid at the end of the programme.
