Summer & Autumn Pre-sessional English tutors
We are now looking to recruit experienced EAP tutors for our summer and autumn Pre-sessional English courses.
Please note that initially we will be recruiting for summer courses. Applications for autumn courses will be processed and shortlisted after the summer posts have been filled. We are happy to hear from those who would like to teach on both summer and autumn courses.

Course Description
The Pre-sessional English programme is a University-wide programme which has attracted students form 48 different counties over the last two years. Our students current go onto International Business and other business-related subject degrees, with substantial numbers also taking engineering and computing courses, and increasing numbers taking Art and Design, or media related courses. Progression rates onto these courses from PSE is currently 98.9%.
This programme prepares students for entry to their degree programme through development of academic language and skills.
Course dates
We are recruiting EAP tutors for the courses listed below.
Please note that these dates include both the induction period and administrative days which are paid and require full attendance.
SUMMER
Summer 15 week Term 1: 17th May-30th June
Summer 15 week Term 2: 28th June-15th September
Summer 10 week: 28th June-15th September
Late 10 week: 15th July-22nd September
Summer 5 week: 2nd August-15th September
AUTUMN
Autumn 15 week Term 1: 2nd August-15th September
Autumn 15 week Term 2: 27th September-15th December
Autumn 10 week: 27th September-15th December
Autumn 5 week: 1st November-15th December
Please note applicants must be available for the entire duration of the course.
Remuneration will be at GBP 27,080 – GBP 33,329 pro rata depending on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a good first degree and a recognised TEFL qualification (e.g. CELTA, CertTrinity TESOL) as a minimum, and applicants with a TEAP qualification, a DELTA and/or a master’s in Applied Linguistics/TESOL are particularly encouraged to apply. They will also have experience of teaching on EAP/pre-sessional and/or in-sessional courses, preferably in a UK university context.
