Pre-sessional EAP teacher

10-week course: Friday 21st June until Friday 30th August 2019 (plus a compulsory induction period from Monday 17th June until Thursday 20th June)

6-week course: Friday 19th July until Friday 30th August 2019 (plus a compulsory induction period from Monday 15th July until Thursday 18th July)

• A 35-hour working week including 17.5 hours classroom teaching, plus preparation and marking divided between two groups of postgraduate students
• Delivering in-house materials and providing regular feedback on student work
• Attendance at meetings and CPD as required

Candidates for these posts are required to have a minimum of a first degree and a DELTA (or equivalent) and ideally, previous experience of teaching on pre-sessional courses. The workload on such courses can be high and the aspirations of students a genuine challenge for the teacher. The Centre is run on the principles of collaboration, development, transparency, transferability, autonomy and reflexivity at all levels within our community. For those who are interested in the BALEAP fellowship scheme, we have a TEAP assessor in-house to carry out observations for your TEAP portfolio. CELFS is running a TEAP course from June 3rd to 7th 2019 for teachers interested in Associate Fellow. Accommodation: Summer accommodation has been made available for teachers not living locally. This is located in the Colston Street building in the city centre and within walking distance of the campus. The cost will be met by CELFS except for the sum of £25 per week including VAT. This is payable online and covers the cost of utilities and cleaning. You will be sent relevant details once accommodation is confirmed.

Job Salary & Benefits

The total payment for the 10-week course: £8535.23 including induction & annual leave
The total payment for the 6-week course: £5431.51 including induction & annual leave
