Pre-sessional EAP teacher

10-week course: Friday 19th June – Friday 28th August 2020 (plus a compulsory induction period from Monday 15th June – Thursday 18th June)

6-week course: Friday 17th July – Friday 28th August 2020 (plus a compulsory induction period from Monday 13th July – Thursday 16th July)

A 35-hour working week including 17.5 hours classroom teaching, plus preparation and marking divided between two groups of students (most of which will be postgraduate)
Delivering in-house materials and providing regular feedback on student work
Attendance at meetings and CPD events as required

Candidates for these posts are required to have a minimum of a first degree and a DELTA (or equivalent, for example a Masters in a relevant subject) and ideally, previous experience of teaching on pre-sessional courses. The workload on such courses can be high and the aspirations of students a genuine challenge for the teacher. The Centre is run on the principles of collaboration, development, transparency, transferability, autonomy and reflexivity at all levels within our community. For those who are interested in the BALEAP fellowship scheme, we have TEAP assessors in-house to carry out observations for your TEAP portfolio. The Centre is running 3 TEAP courses; at Associate Fellow level from June 8rd to 12th 2020 at Senior Fellow level from January 6th-10th January 2020 and a Fellow level 30th March – 3rd April 2020. Job Salary & Benefits

The total payment for the 10-week course: £8,686.71 including induction & annual leave

The total payment for the 6-week course: £5,527.91 including induction & annual leave

Accommodation: Summer accommodation has been made available for teachers not living locally. This is located in the Colston Street building in the city centre and within walking distance of the campus. The cost will be met by the Centre except for the sum of £25 per week including VAT to cover utilities. This is payable online and covers the cost of utilities and cleaning. You will be sent relevant details once accommodation is confirmed and lets will be agreed with the accommodation office on a first-come-first-served basis. We regret we cannot accommodate families in these facilities, all accommodation is single occupancy.
