This is an exciting opportunity to join the English Language Centre (ELC) at the University of Liverpool in supporting the development of the ELC’s Pre-sessional and In-sessional English language and study skills provision across the Liverpool campus and at the University of Liverpool in London.

Working with the EAP Director (Pre-sessional & In-sessional) and with fellow ‘EAP’ Coordinators, you will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of the in-year Pre-sessional (40-, 30- and 20-week intakes), ensuring that it operates in the best interests of the students and receiving departments. You will also contribute to the coordination of the ELC’s ‘KnowHow’ Academic English provision, including 1:1 Writing Consultations, and will be able to offer support and/or cover as required to other Co-ordinators. As an ‘EAP Co-ordinator’ team, you will be involved with the development of the ELC’s provision in London and development of bespoke Pre-sessional provision for PGR candidates.

You should have a DELTA or Trinity Dip TESOL (Level 7), and will be an experienced EAP practitioner with experience of EAP (ESAP) course development and small team leadership. You will need to demonstrate independence and initiative, resilience and creativity.

You will:

Play a key role in the ongoing review and development of the ELC’s in-year Pre-sessional courses and KnowHow Academic English, and input on the design and development of the EAP course portfolio more generally;
Supervise a team of ELC University Teachers involved in delivery of Pre-sessional and/or In-sessional provision;
Teach across the ELC’s range of EAP courses;
Take responsibility for the day-to-day student experience on the in-year Pre-sessional courses;
Assist with Pre-sessional and/or In-sessional course administration as requested by the EAP Director or other members of the senior management team.

Job Salary & Benefits

£33,518 to £38,833 pa
