The University of Glasgow is seeking to appoint a full-time permanent Lecturer in Teaching English for Academic Purposes & TESOL within English for Academic Study (EAS) in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures. This is a Research and Teaching track post and as such offers an exciting opportunity for ambitious, highly motivated and talented academics who can bring research expertise in the broad area of English for Academic Purposes (EAP/ Teaching EAP (TEAP). In developing academic excellence and contributing to research led teaching, the post holder will complement the excellent reputation in EAP and TEAP course design and delivery that EAS has established and our rising profile in the scholarship of teaching and learning.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate a developing track record in research in EAP/TEAP/EAP for EMI-E contexts, and candidates who contribute to the range of EAP and TESOL provision which EAS delivers.

The successful candidate will have academic experience relevant to EAP/TEAP and be expected to contribute to our TEAP and TESOL programmes, supervision of doctoral students, research funding applications, and produce high quality outputs submittable to the Research Excellence Framework (REF). The successful candidate will contribute to the wider field of EAP/TEAP nationally and internationally to develop and enhance the T/EAP research profile of the School/College and ensure that the University of Glasgow’s T/EAP research activities are at the forefront of the field.

We are looking to attract applications from both early career and more experienced candidates. The appointment will therefore either be made at Lecturer Grade 7 or 8 relative to respective criteria.

This post is offered on a full-time (35 hours per week) open ended basis.
