The Faculty of Education and Humanities is home to the University of Northampton’s English Language provision. Our Pre-sessional English Programme (PEP) is delivered throughout the year and is designed to support students in reaching the required English language level for entry to our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Each year we teach c.500 students (many in the summer term) and play a vital role in enabling international students to access our academic programmes. We also deliver an International Foundation Programme, English Language modules within the University’s modular framework, and provide in-sessional language development through workshops and tutorials. Most recently, we have developed an MA in English Language Teaching.

Following our considerable recent success, we invite applications from dedicated, ambitious team players who share our enterprising approach. For this post, you will have experience of teaching Business English and English for Academic Purposes in a university environment, and can expect to teach across all levels from International Foundation Programme through to postgraduate. The successful candidate will have a Masters’ degree in applied linguistics (or similar) and significant relevant experience. A DELTA (or equivalent) qualification is essential.

In addition to delivering teaching excellence, you can expect to make a significant contribution to curriculum and other developments, particularly on the Pre-sessional English Programme and English language modules within the University’s modular framework, plus at least one of the following; corporate/executive education, overseas development and delivery, distance learning development and delivery, applied research, consultancy and business development.
