Brunel Language Centre (BLC), Brunel University London has teaching opportunities in China for well-qualified, motivated EAP practitioners who are passionate about learning and teaching. BLC was founded in 2005 and is recognised as a Centre of Excellence by the English Language Gazette. The post-holders will be based in China for two semesters per year and will work closely with: North China University of Technology (NCUT), Beijing, People’s Republic of China, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT), Chongqing, People’s Republic of China Brunel Language Centre, Brunel University London College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences, Brunel University London.

The successful applicants will work within a growing team of EAP tutors and have responsibility for contributing to the successful delivery of a suite of English programmes for NCUT and CQUPT. A team player with experience in a busy working environment, you will be a self-starter with excellent decision-making skills. You will have empathy with differing cultures and a willingness to develop and improve the student experience of undergraduate students who need to raise their level of English within the context of their degree subject.

A proactive approach to work is essential, and the successful applicant should have a strong desire to find solutions. A flexible attitude, excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and literacy skills, a willingness to help out and learn (and use) new systems will be essential. Previous experience/knowledge of Transnational Higher Education is desirable. Applicants will hold a DELTA and a CELTA. An MA relevant to the Teaching of English is also desirable.

Job Salary & Benefits

Salary (H3 Grade): £38,017 to £49,553 per annum plus Cost of Living Allowance
