The Language Centre at Nottingham Trent University provides year-round pre-sessional courses in English for Academic Purposes which help international students prepare for postgraduate study at the University. We are seeking highly motivated and suitably qualified candidates to deliver teaching on the pre-sessional courses at various times of year according to need.

Main Duties
• Preparation and teaching of sessions
• Assessment and feedback, report-writing and record-keeping
• To attend the paid induction prior to the start of teaching, to attend a weekly team meeting, and to be available to liaise with colleagues as necessary for the smooth functioning of the course.

Self-catering accommodation on campus may be available at a discounted rate for pre-sessional tutors from outside the Nottingham area.

Course dates 2018
Course dates are:
1. 25/06/18 to 31/08/18 (excluding 27/08) with staff induction on 19-22/6.
2. 23/07/18 to 31/08/18 (excluding 27/08) with staff induction on 18-20/07.
For both courses teachers will be contracted for 21 hours per week. The pay rate for all courses is £42.18 per hour. Attendance at pre-course staff induction (compulsory) is paid at £16.87 per hour.
Requirements
Applicants should have the Cambridge ESOL DELTA or an equivalent EFL teaching qualification, plus a first degree, together with substantial teaching experience. You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to teach a language effectively using a variety of methods.
Experience of EAP teaching would be an advantage, as would an MA in TESOL or related subject.
You will work under the direction of the Pre-sessional Course Leader and the Head of Department in delivering high quality teaching and learning to undergraduate, postgraduate and external students. Duties will include preparation, delivery, and marking where required, and attendance at a weekly meeting.

Job Salary & Benefits

Pay rate is £42.18 per direct teaching hour. This includes the following: teaching, preparation, team meetings, marking and moderation of marks of the scheduled programme of work. Attendance at the pre-course staff inductions will be paid at the rate of £16.87 per hour.
