This is a fixed term role (18 months) whilst current provision in Edinburgh and China is reviewed.
Edinburgh Napier University International Operations has an exciting new opportunity as Head of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). This role has primary responsibility for managing the development and delivery of the University’s pre-sessional English programmes and short courses with EFL content.
You will manage a team of EFL tutors and develop an attractive portfolio of programmes which meet market demand. You will ensure that the programmes are delivered to the highest standard in terms of curriculum, student progression and student satisfaction. In addition you will oversee the end of course testing which enables students to progress onto the University’s degree programmes and comply with UKVI requirements.
Educated to MSc level in TESOL or a relevant area, you must have substantial experience of teaching on pre-sessional English programmes in an HEI, experience of curriculum and syllabus design in Academic English, and EFL testing for the purposes of visa requirements. Experience of staff supervision and managing a team is also an essential. The pre-sessional programmes are delivered both in Edinburgh in China, therefore you must be willing to travel overseas to China at key points during the year to oversee the delivery of the programme.

Grade 6, £38,183-£46,924 per annum
