The School of Literature and Languages is seeking to appoint an external examiner for its MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. It is expected that the successful applicant will be available to attend exam boards in February, July and November each year. Information about the MA programme can be found here:

Applicants will have competence and experience in the delivery of a comparable programme of study. They should also have knowledge and understanding of the UK Higher Education sector and reference points for the maintenance of academic standards and assurance and enhancement of academic quality.
The appointment will commence on 1st October 2019 and run for 4 years. The code of practice on external examining at the University of Surrey can be found at:

An annual honorarium will be paid and expenses will be reimbursed in line with the University of Surrey’s external examiner guidelines.
