Remote with some onsite presence in Bournemouth required.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced English for Academic Purposes Visiting Tutor for our online pre-sessional course within the Directorate of Academic and Student Services.
Working with guidance from our existing EAP team you will have responsibility for preparing and teaching lessons and conducting 1-to-1 tutorials with students for whom English is not a first language. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching academic English and be flexible and adaptive in supporting students from a range of academic subject areas. Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills will also be required.
Educated to degree level, you will hold a recognised teaching qualification (CELTA / DELTA or equivalent) and ideally will be experienced in the field of English for Academic Purposes.
The work is likely to involve mainly online, remote working but may require some on-campus work. The frequency of work will vary depending on requirements but is usually during December and June that we will require new tutors.
This position involves working with children (under-18s) and therefore requires compliance with the University’s Safeguarding Policies, including the requirement for enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance prior to the commencement of employment. The University is committed to stringent Safeguarding practices, including in its practices around the recruitment and selection of staff, to positions which involve working with children and/or vulnerable people. The successful candidate will be required to complete AUB approved Safeguarding Training.
