Middlesex University has entered into an exciting new collaboration with Minzu University of China, in Hainan. We are looking, firstly, for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher to take on a short-term assignment until early July 2024, to start as soon as possible. Secondly, we are seeking to appoint a number of teachers for the next academic year, beginning in September 2024. Preference will be given to applicants committed to a one-year assignment, but those interested in 12-week contracts will also be considered.
Middlesex students in Hainan study towards UG and PG awards in Arts disciplines. Teaching duties will combine a focus on General English skills with the development of more specific academic literacies through bespoke EAP provision.
Teaching duties will not normally exceed 28 class hours (21 real hours) per week. A mixture of coursebook-based and in-house teaching materials is used. Classroom facilities are very modern, and room layouts favour use of the communicative approach.
Salary £39347 per annum pro rata, payable in sterling. Return flights, insurance and accommodation are provided, and visa costs covered. Hainan is a tropical island, and is fast developing both in terms of tourism and commerce.
