The University of Northampton is seeking to appoint a number of experienced EAP teachers to contribute to the delivery of its summer 2019 Pre-Sessional English programme. Applicants must have a first degree and a CELTA (or equivalent). A DELTA (or equivalent), TEAP qualification and/or a Master’s degree in a cognate subject (e.g. TESOL, Applied Linguistics) is highly desirable.

The Pre-sessional at the University of Northampton has been designed to reflect innovative practice in EAP teaching and assessment.

Teachers will be involved in all aspects of Pre-Sessional provision (including the planning and delivery of classes, student feedback and support) and will be expected to teach 20 hours per week and attend weekly staff meetings and development sessions. Teachers should be able to commit for the entire duration of the course.

Associate Lecturers are just as important to us as our students, and, as such all Associate Lecturers take part in a formal observation which aims to open up a dialogue about TEAP practice and development.

We currently have vacancies for the following courses:

PEP EAP 6-week course

Dependent on student numbers, there may be the opportunity for further work in the autumn term.

Informal enquiries can be sent to Hazel McAllister, Pre-Sessional Programme Leader: hazel.mcallister@northampton.ac.uk or Simon Mathews, simon.mathews@northampton.ac.uk.

Interview Date: W/C 3 June 2019

If you are unable to attend the interview in person, a Skype interview can be arranged.

This is an exciting time to join our University following our relocation in September 2018 to a new purpose-built, town-centre campus designed to adapt to 21st century teaching and the ABL model. We are looking to recruit individuals who share our passion for innovation, creativity and social impact and who will play a key role as we realise our ambition of transforming lives for the better and inspiring positive change.

The University of Northampton is one of only two Ashoka U Changemaker Campuses in the UK, and in 2017 was awarded the Social Enterprise Gold Mark, an independent guarantee that we have proven to our employees, students and stakeholders that we are committed to continuous improvement across our business in order to consistently deliver a positive impact on people and planet.

All candidates will be asked to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK at interview. Due to the requirements laid out by UK Visas and Immigration regarding Right to Work in the UK, the University can only accept applications from individuals who currently have a status allowing them to work in the UK for this position. Due to this criteria we regret that we are unable to offer sponsorship at this time.

The University of Northampton as an employer strives to achieve diversity among its staff which reflects the communities it serves.
