The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland’s national awarding and accreditation body. We are trusted to oversee thousands of qualifications that are available in schools, colleges and workplaces, not just in this country, but around the world.
SQA, in partnership with PSI, are now developing and delivering tests as an approved provider of the UK government’s Secure English Language Tests (SELTs).
SQA are recruiting two Assessment Officers to support the assessment development activities for our new Skills for English tests whilst also delivering high-quality, continually improving, efficient and responsive services to our customer.
Successful candidates must:
Have experience in ESOL assessment and/or teaching
Hold a recognised TESOL qualification
Have a working knowledge of the CEFR
Have excellent proofreading skills and strong attention to detail
Have experience of developing relationships with key stakeholders
Desirable criteria:
Have experience of supporting and managing assessment development and quality assurance processes that underpin the item writing process.
Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 8 and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
The post is offered on a fixed term with the potential to be extended dependent on the continuous success of the contract.
Interviews to be held in January 2021.
Due to the secure nature of these tests successful applicants will be required to complete necessary UK Government security. As part of the recruitment process the successful applicant will be subject to pre-employment checks.
