Job Details

The USW Pathway College is a joint venture between QA Higher Education and the University of South Wales (USW) based on USW’s Treforest Campus in Pontypridd, nestled in the South Wales Valleys.

The Pathway College offers international students an International Foundation Programme (IFP) and an International Year – Business (IY1) with dual intakes in both October and January.

On the Level 3 IFP, students study 12 hours of EAP along with 6 hours of their Pathway subject (Business, Engineering, Computing, Applied Science, Creative Industries, Sports Science), for a total of 18 hours per week for 20 weeks. Upon successful completion of the IFP, students then progress onto a variety of approved degree programs at USW depending on their chosen Pathway. On the Level 4 IY1, students are studying the first year of their business related degree with an extra module of EAP to support international students’ transition to UK Higher Education. Upon completion of the IY1, students progress onto the second year of their business degree with USW.

In academic year 2021/22, our first year of operation, saw 72 international students pass through the USW Pathway College. In 2022/23, that number rose to 115 students. And in 2023/24, we are forecasting up to 150 students.
