“Edinburgh Napier University is seeking an appropriately qualified English Tutor to join a team of experienced staff members teaching on a 9-week pre-sessional course to be delivered in China. The successful applicant should have extensive experience of EAP teaching and hold relevant qualifications (CELTA / DELTA – MA TESOL, experience of teaching Chinese language learners and fluency in spoken and written Mandarin desirable but not essential). The position also requires a passport valid for 6 months from the 1st May 2017. Contract dates: 1st May through 1st July in China with travel and accommodation arrangements provided by the University (Tutors currently based in China also welcome to apply providing you have the appropriate working visa) The successful applicant will be appointed for a duration of 9 weeks. The EFL Tutor role involves teaching on pre-sessional courses and summer schools offered by the University as part of its Internationalisation agenda. Duties include assessing student work, including the associated administrative work and delivering and developing teaching materials under the guidance of the course co-ordinator.
The pre-sessional programmes are delivered both in Edinburgh in China, therefore the post holder must be willing to travel overseas to China at key points to oversee the delivery of the programme as necessary.
