Goldsmiths, University of London’s Centre for Academic Language and Literacies (CALL) is seeking talented and dedicated Pre-sessional Lecturers for our 6-week Online ONLY interdisciplinary pre-sessional programme (Arts and Social Sciences). This opportunity arises due to a sudden increase in student enrolment for our pre-sessional course.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach on our 6-week online interdisciplinary pre-sessional programme. Dates: 18 July 2024 – 30 August 2024
• Deliver engaging and effective lessons to international students in Arts and Social Sciences disciplines.
• Foster critical thinking, research, and problem-solving abilities through the development of academic skills such as essay writing, critical reading, and seminar presentations.
• Support students in enhancing their English language proficiency to ensure effective communication in academic contexts.
Essential Requirements:
• A relevant Master’s degree or higher.
• Experience teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP) or Academic Skills in higher education contexts.
• Proficiency in using online teaching platforms and digital resources.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse student populations.
Desirable Qualities:
Interest in contemporary social theory and teaching methodologies.
Experience teaching in an online environment.
Familiarity with the academic texts and lectures used in Arts and Social Sciences disciplines.

Salary: Grade 7, SP (£43,036 pro rata), this is inclusive of London Allowance and paid holiday time will be added in lieu of annual leave. There is also a compulsory paid induction and some compulsory CPD workshops.
