Course Dates:
10 Week Pre-sessional course (Canterbury campus) – 25th June to 4th September 2020
10 Week Pre-sessional course (Medway campus) – 25th June to 11th September 2020
7 Week Intensive Pre-sessional course (Canterbury) – 16th July to 4th September 2020
6 Week Pre-sessional course (Canterbury campus) – 23rd July to 4th September 2020

What does the role involve?
Teaching and assessment: To deliver engaging and interactive EAP classes to students from a variety of backgrounds and cultures and to provide pastoral student support when and where needed. Classes range from 20 to 25 hours per week and 32 to 35 hours per week for the intensive courses (this includes student tutorials) and tutors are provided with a syllabus and in-house materials. Tutors will be assessing student performance through both formative and summative assessments, providing adequate feedback and guidance (training and standardisation sessions will be provided).
Administration: day-to-day administrative tasks relevant to teaching and record keeping such as, inputting attendance electronically, completing a student progress report (template provided), completing mark sheets and accurately recording assessment marks.
Meetings: Tutors are encouraged to actively participate and engage in staff meetings (held every two weeks) and provide feedback on elements of the course, and CPD meetings (held every 3-4 weeks) aimed to promote the sharing and collaboration of tried and tested or innovative teaching practices – tutors are welcome to deliver a CPD meeting. Tutors are also welcome to attend social activities or to go on social trips with the students (transport/entry costs will be paid for).

Job Salary & Benefits

34,809 (Pro rata per annum)
Accrued holiday entitlement will be included in the salary and taken at the end of the course or where breaks in the course occur.
