An opportunity has arisen for the role of Associate Director of Pre-sessional English (PSE) courses at CU Services as a fixed term part-time post (job share). We are very proud of our Pre-sessional English provision and the innovation we have put in place to support our student learning journey. As part of our drive for quality assurance, our Pre-sessional English courses have been fully accredited by BALEAP. We also provide In-sessional support to students across the university, and are continuing to diversify our portfolio of courses as we move forward.
Overview of role
The Associate Directors of Pre-sessional English Courses collectively assist the Director of PSE in ensuring successful delivery of all operational aspects of courses delivered by CU Services, including assisting in strategic planning, managing new projects and courses, and incorporating innovations to meet evolving demands and opportunities within the business.
Each Associate Director should expect to work across all areas of the provision and so flexibility is required. These include development, delivery and evaluation of pre-sessional EAP courses, in-sessional support, online delivery, and provision overseas. This is a fixed term one-year contract with the potential for renewal at the end of the term. We are aiming for the appointed person to be in post to start in January 2020 if possible.
Qualifications
A first degree, plus a postgraduate qualification in an appropriate subject area is essential (see Job Specifications for further details). Applications from candidates with a specific EAP qualification are encouraged.
Candidates must also have experience of leading/managing EAP courses, and significant experience of teaching English for Academic Purposes in a HEI context.
Remuneration:
£38,896- £47,538 pro rata
