The English Language Centre offers a wide variety of general English and IELTS, EAP, ESP and TEFL courses to current and prospective University of Liverpool students, as well as individuals and groups from around the world engaged in short-term study. The ELC is a busy department with up to 44 weeks of timetabled delivery each calendar year and ambitious plans to grow its portfolio in Liverpool, University of Liverpool in London, and at our partner institutions overseas. Our University Teachers are highly qualified, experienced teaching professionals who can adapt and respond to very different student profiles across our course portfolio. You are likely to be most involved with one or two course areas, including the summer Pre-sessional, depending on your personal strengths and experience, but are a member of one ELC teaching team with the opportunity to work across multiple areas.
In short, the post-holders will:
– Teach across the full range of English Language Centre (ELC) courses, including the summer Pre-sessional, as required;
– Contribute to the design and development of ELC courses, teaching and learning materials across a variety of media, and to ELC academic administration;
– Play a key role in ensuring a quality student experience.
You should hold a DELTA/Trinity Dip TESOL (or near completion) and a Masters level qualification or equivalent in TESOL/Applied Linguistics or other relevant area.
£33,518 to £38,833 per annum
