Summer & Autumn Pre-sessional English tutors
Due to a surge in student numbers, we are looking to recruit experienced EAP tutors for our summer and autumn Pre-sessional English courses. We are particularly interested in tutors available for the Summer 10 and 5 week courses and will be recruiting for these initially, although we are happy to hear from those who would like to teach on both summer and autumn courses.

Course Description
Coventry University has just been named Top New University (Complete University Guide 2018), and is the top university in the UK for international student mobility (HESA).
The Pre-sessional English (PSE) programme is a University-wide programme which has attracted students form 48 different counties over the last two years and is well placed to provide high quality courses and be part of a truly international experience for our students.
The main destination degree courses for PSE students are International Business and other business-related subject degrees, with substantial numbers also taking engineering and computing courses, and increasing numbers taking Art and Design, or media related courses. Progression rates onto these courses from PSE is currently 98.9%.
This programme prepares students for entry to their degree programme through development of academic language and skills.
Course dates
We are recruiting EAP tutors for the following courses. Please note that both the induction period and administrative days are paid and require full attendance.
Summer courses
Summer 10 week: 28th June –15th September
Late Start 10 week: 5th July – 22nd September
Summer 5 week: 2nd August – 15th September
Autumn courses
Autumn 15 week Block 1: 2nd August – 15th September
Autumn 15 week Block 2: 27th Sept – 15th December
Autumn 10 week: 27th Sept – 15th December
Autumn 5 week: 1st – 15th December
Rates of pay:
Remuneration will be at £27,080 – £33,329 pro rata depending on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a good first degree and a recognised TEFL qualification (e.g. CELTA, CertTrinity TESOL) as a minimum, and applicants with a TEAP qualification, a DELTA and/or a master’s in Applied Linguistics/TESOL are particularly encouraged to apply. They will also have experience of teaching on EAP/pre-sessional and/or in-sessional courses, preferably in a UK university context.
