De Montfort University Cambodia (DMUC), the first British university campus in Cambodia, is seeking an energetic and professional English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Lecturer to join our team in Phnom Penh.

This role involves teaching English for Academic Purposes to international foundation and undergraduate pathway students, supporting the development of academic writing, reading, speaking and study skills required for success in a UK-style university environment.

Requirements:
-Relevant Master’s degree (TESOL, Applied Linguistics or related field preferred)
-Experience teaching EAP in a university or pathway environment
-Strong communication and student support skills

About the Role
De Montfort University Cambodia (DMUC) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) to join our growing academic team. Based in the vibrant and culturally rich city of Phnom Penh, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, student-focused learning environment within a British transnational education setting.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students to develop the academic English skills required for success across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
• Deliver high-quality EAP teaching across a range of modules, including academic writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills.
• Prepare and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons aligned with module specifications and learning outcomes.
• Support students in developing academic literacy, critical thinking, and independent learning skills.
• Provide targeted support to students to improve their English proficiency in preparation for assessments and progression.
Assessment & Feedback
• Mark, and moderate assessments in line with university and partner regulations.
• Provide timely, constructive, and developmental feedback to support student progress.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and engagement.
Student Support & Engagement
• Offer academic support through tutorials, workshops, and one-to-one sessions.
• Identify and support students at risk of underperformance, contributing to intervention strategies.
• Contribute to the delivery of additional English support sessions (including IELTS preparation where required).
Academic Administration
• Contribute to module management, including preparation of teaching materials and updating VLE content.
• Participate in standardisation, moderation, and quality assurance processes.
• Ensure compliance with academic policies and procedures.
Quality & Enhancement
• Engage in continuous professional development and scholarly activity.
• Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement of the EAP provision.
• Support initiatives that enhance the student experience and academic outcomes.
Wider Contribution
• Participate in open days, induction, and recruitment activities as required.
• Contribute to the wider academic community and collaborative working culture at DMUC.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
• A Master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field.
• A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. DELTA, CELTA, PGCE or equivalent).
• Proven experience teaching EAP in a higher education or foundation programme setting.
• Experience in designing and assessing academic English coursework.
• Strong understanding of international student needs and transnational education contexts.

Desirable Criteria
• Experience teaching on foundation programmes (e.g. NCUK or similar).
• Experience preparing students for IELTS or other English proficiency tests.
• Fellowship of Advance HE (or willingness to work towards it).
• Experience working within a UK higher education framework.
