Job details

The Institute of Ismaili Studies in London (https://www.iis.ac.uk/) is looking for freelance tutors to help deliver online preparatory modules in academic literacies, including both academic and general English. The modules will form part of our Postgraduate Preparatory Programme (PGPP) for applicants in our priority countries (Afghanistan, Syria, Iran, Russia) who need to improve their level of academic English, as well as gain an orientation to the requirements of Master’s study in the UK. Remuneration rate for PGPP tutors: £36.80 per teaching hour. The amount of teaching can be negotiated to suit IIS programme schedules and tutor availability.
Tutor profile: extensive experience in teaching English for Academic Purposes at postgraduate level (pre-sessional / insessional teaching ideal); experience in comparable international contexts, a Masters and / or Diploma in ELT or related field, preferably with a study component in EAP; skills in delivering classes via Zoom/other online platforms; flexibility and resilience to manage communication with students in remote areas where connectivity can be an issue.
