Job details:
Due to a late increase in student numbers, we are now recruiting for experienced EAP/EFL tutors to work on our summer pre-sessional courses. For the right candidates, there may also be the opportunity to work on our autumn pre-sessional programme if desirable.
The pre-sessional English programme is a University-wide programme. Currently the largest cohort will progress onto International Business and other business-related subjects, with substantial numbers also taking engineering and computing courses, and increasing numbers taking Art and Design, or media related courses.
Qualifications
You should hold a good first degree and a recognised TEFL qualification (e.g. CELTA, CertTrinity TESOL) as a minimum, and applicants with a TEAP qualification, a DELTA and/or a master’s in Applied Linguistics/TESOL are particularly encouraged to apply. You will also have experience of teaching EAP/pre-sessional courses, preferably in a UK university.
The available course dates (teaching) for summer 2016 are as follows:
Summer 10 week A: Wed 29th June – Fri 9th Sept
Summer 10 week B: Tues 12th July – Tues 20th Sept
Summer 5 week: Wed 3rd August – Fri 9th Sept
The available course dates (teaching) for autumn 2016 are as follows:
Autumn 15 week:
Term 1: Wed 3rd August – Wed 7th Sept
Term 2: Wed 5th Oct – Fri 16th December
Autumn 10 week:
Wed 5th Oct – Fri 16th December
Autumn 5 week:
Wed 9th Nov – Fri 16th December
Induction: You will be required to attend a 5 day tutor induction immediately prior to the start of your course, and this will be paid as part of your contract.
End of contract: The final two days of your contract are for administrative duties including producing student reports.
This means that you will be paid for an extra working week plus 2 days on top of the teaching weeks.
Remuneration will be at £26,785.20 – £32,966.40 depending on qualifications and experience.
