Goldsmiths, University of London’s English Language Centre is seeking to recruit EAP tutors to teach on our 5 week interdisciplinary Pre-sessional Programme (Arts and Social Sciences). This is a full-time, fixed term position (9:30am-3.30pm) and you will be expected to teach up to 15 hours per week. There will also be up to 3 hours of tutorials per week and and a 1 hour weekly lecture to attend with students. Tutorials are scheduled within the regular lesson timetable and there are no weekend academic or social activities to attend. We are unfortunately unable to provide accommodation but can give useful advice.
Teachers should have an interest in contemporary social theory, and be able to teach the academic skills of researched essay writing, critical reading and seminar presentation, based on a range of academic texts and lectures. Materials will be provided, as will support from full-time members of staff.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
• CELTA or equivalent practical assessed teaching experience;
• MA Applied Linguistics or related discipline;
• EAP experience, including in UK higher Education;
• Ability to manage the workload of intensive EAP courses
Salary: £39,504 pro rata, this is inclusive of London Allowance but paid holiday time will be added to this in lieu of annual leave. There is also a paid induction which staff are expected to attend.
