EAP in the South East: Oral fluency in the EAP classroom

25th October 2019 @ 1:30pm - 5:00pm

Oracy is increasingly important in all university courses, for both native and non-native speakers. An important element of this is oral fluency. Our research demonstrates that pedagogic interventions in the classroom can make a difference to the development of fluency. This workshop will look at pedagogical principles, which derive from our research and other research into task-based language teaching.

This workshop will focus on practical techniques and strategies teachers and materials writers can consider in students’ fluency

Workshop leaders:
Professor Parvaneh Tavakoli &
Joan McCormack (Associate Professor)
