BALEAP, working in partnership with BUILA (the British Universities’ International Liaison Association) has now published the English Language Good Practice Guide: Testing, Qualifications and English for Academic Purposes in Higher Education.

Based on content developed by EAP practitioners and researchers, and drawing on the views of students, test providers, and other professionals working in UK higher education, this joint publication focuses on three key areas: evaluating English language qualifications and tests; EAP provision on pre-sessional and pathway programmes; and approaches to in-sessional EAP.

The Guide is designed to help institutions make fair, transparent and evidence-based decisions that protect academic standards and support student success, safeguarding the UK’s reputation as a world-class study destination. The positive impact of EAP provision and practitioners are championed and evidenced throughout the Guide in order to highlight our value for a wide range of audiences and stakeholders.
